Mom Uniform // Summer Updates

Em: Hi Meg
Meg: Hey Em
Em:  It's almost summer.  What are you thinking about getting for your summer uniform?
Meg: So excited!
Em: (Or what have you already bought?)
Meg: I am thinking of cut offs and tanks.  And easy throw on dresses.  Living in my Havianas. Have you started shopping yet?
Em: Ack, I never stop shopping.  I'm thinking loose maxis and vests.
Meg: That was a silly question.
Em: Oh and super high gladiators. Ok, let's say you can only buy one thing to update the basics you already have.  What would you get?
Meg: Kimonos.  Great for dresses, bathing suits, and date night. I got a fantastic one at Target this week. You??
Em: Good call.
Meg: I give you props for the gladiators.
Em: I'm going to go with shoes.  A pair of thick straps with a wider foot bed to update cutoffs and dresses.  Also great with Lululemons or for making sweats cooler.
Meg: I knew you would go shoes.
Em: Shoes are the practical choice! Lol! They work no matter what size you are!
Meg: My idea for beach this summer is tanks and bathing suit bottoms.  More moveable for chasing kids and more coverage for nursing.  I am loving my Free People tanks so much I am making excuses to wear them daily.
Em: Love that. Perfect because none of my bikini tops fit after babies, anyway. I'm into it.

Little Girl Uniform // Summertime!

Evie has a uniform too.  She's only interested in wearing dresses so we keep those on repeat!  I avoid buttons, zippers, anything tight because I want her to be able to get dressed/undressed/go to the bathroom entirely on her own.  Same goes for shoes- she has to be able to put them on herself, or they go unworn.

Jersey Dress -lightweight cotton is perfect for summer.
Embroidered Dress -these sleeves just kill me.
Striped Dress - can never say no to a stripe.
Floral Maryjanes - Tom's are a favorite.
Cowboy Boots - both Evie and Lylah have these and they go with everything!

Summer Hair

Being a mom of three is the best job on the planet. But before being a mom, I was a hairdresser. Doing hair is my passion and I hope to return to standing behind the chair once the baby is ready for preschool. In the meantime I will use my passion in blog form.
I came up with an array of photos to take with you next time you see your magic lady...your hairdresser.

For summer we are saying a long over due good bye to ombré, and stepping the game up with rich colors (red!!!) and bangs! Long bangs are the way of the summer (unless you plan on swimming A LOT then I reccomend staying away from this trend.) But you can still jump in and with fun vibrant colors or something drastic like chopping your locks into a long bob! Summer hair is fun and essential to your everyday feel good look.

Hats

It's gotten to the point where I just don't think my forehead can get burned one more time.  Safe to say I'm totally scared of the sun. SPF is great, but I really try to get a hat on too- especially when I know we'll be at the park for hours.
